After ten happy and successful years of landscaping in Minneapolis, I sold my garden design and landscape business, Margi MacMurdo's Earth Kind Garden Design, Inc., and moved my family to the South Island of New Zealand. Why?  In part it was to satisfy a lifelong curiosity and dream of mine which was to see what the other side of the world was like, and to give my children a unique experience they could carry with them for a lifetime. However, work was so scarce in New Zealand I had to figure out a way to make a living and was fortunate enough to be offered an amazing scholarship opportunity. Much to my unexpected surprise I wound up pursuing and completing a Masters degree and a Doctorate in Visual Culture!

The seasons in New Zealand are opposite to the Northern Hemisphere, and with its temperate climate, amazing flowers are exploding in every color almost all year round. I've included a sampling of life in New Zealand in these photos below which I invite you to peruse. Many are taken from my very own garden. Our home was also located a block away from the Dunedin Botanic Garden which I was privileged to walk through nearly every day to the university where I both attended and was employed. 

Now that I am back in Minneapolis, it is an understatement to say that I was not only moved but inspired by my decade of living in gorgeous New Zealand surroundings. I bring this inspiration along with fresh ideas and solutions on how to implement the feelings and impressions from that place to yours with my new business, Margi MacMurdo's Gardening Angel Garden Design, LLC.
